Coco, Terrier aged to be around 3 years was rescued from Tondiarpet, Chennai. She was abandoned and was seen roaming in the area for 3 days. She was weak, suffering from multiple wounds, and limping her front right leg. Coco was admitted to SS veterinary Hospital, Nolambur. The radiography revealed distal transverse Radial & Ulnar fractures.
A lifesaving surgery was performed by Dr. Venkhatesh J, M.V.Sc, (Surgery& Radiology) MD(ACU), DMT, and Dr. Shankar S, M.V.Sc, (PMD) @ Auro Multispeciality Pet Hospital, Velachery, Chennai.
The surgical intervention involved, removal of a 30-day callus with internal fixation to bridge the fracture. The radial fracture was fixed using a 2.7mm 12 hole Dynamic Compression Plate (DCP) and Ulnar stabilization was done with 2mm Kirschner Wire
Coco was adopted by one of our followers after her fracture healed and she is happy with her new family. She is a very loving girl and loves to be around people
