Misty, 30 days old puppy was found crying stuck in a narrow gap between two walls at Ayanambakkam, Chennai. On receiving the information, our founder Mrs. Sudha Chandrasekar immediately rushed to the spot to start the rescue operation. Her efforts went in vain for nearly one hour as none seemed to work as the gap was only around 4 inches and the wall was of an electric junction box with live lines running beneath
Finally, she decided to break the hard floor below the puppy and dig the mud out to make space so that she could get out easily from the bottom as the wall was tilted and converging towards the top. This was very risky as the puppy was almost only a centimeter above the ground and she had to break it without causing even a minor injury to her and also without contacting the voltage lines. This worked out and she carefully pulled her out and managed to rescue her
The puppy panicked for a while after she was rescued and started running away but calmed down after a few minutes after she went to her mother who was helplessly watching all the while trying to rescue the puppy.
After the rescue, the gap was covered with few bricks to avoid such unforeseen incidents in the future.
It’s unknown how she got stuck in the first place, but she was most likely trying to get through it. What matters most is that she is now safe and unharmed and back with her mother. The mother and her puppies were then left in a safe compound and taken care of.
